Devon and Starbright are an infamous pair around several starports in the Lunion and Sword Worlds subsectors. They specialize in selling (usually bogus) information and setting up clandestined meetings. They always seem to have a line on whatever the adventurers are looking for . . . mostly trouble. Spur of the moment scams are mobilized to gouge unwary adventurers, and they never tire of passing their "dupe" stories around. Adventurers who have fallen for one of their stories will soon be the laughingstock of the startown bars.
Streetwise and smooth, Devon can sell a story extremely well. Though most of his tales won't hold up under intelligent questioning, his charm and confidence often win the trust of new aquaintances.
Petite and attractive, Starbright looks and acts the part of a sprite. She will smile and tease and cajole her way into the favor of most any man. But she always has some sort of sharp object that she is very willing to use at close range.
The regular M.O. of this pair is for Starbright to accept a 10Cr note or two to get the adventurer an intro with Devon. She builds him up as a well connected figure of the type that the customer is looking for. She sets up a meeting and then fades into the background while Devon runs the con. Sometimes they sell false info, but if they happen to have good info they will sell that, too. A favorite of the pair is selling illegal items at a healthy markup, and then collecting from crooked authorities who allow themselves to be bribed into dropping the charges.
