The Doctor (Phd in Political Science) is stationed at Vilis/Vilis as "Diplomat and Trade Specialist". Although his office in the Embassy Square is officially responsible for general trade and controlling sales of Darrian artifacts, it is less commonly known that all Darrian citizens on Vilis are accountable to the Doctor. All transfers of artifacts must be reported to his office. He has the power to arrest and deport Darrians and to sieze artifacts that are not registered.

Calbarian is said to be quite a carouser and gambler, and is often to be found at the starport casino, either playing or discussing business. He could be the source of major trouble if the adventurers are trading Darrian artifacts. He could also be the the source of special cargoes for trader headed toward Darrian worlds. At times he has hired covert teams to recover misappropriated artifacts, as well.

The Consular office also runs a moderate-sized college of Arts & Sciences, of which Calbarian is dean. He is constantly escorted by a steward/guard robot and a female Darrian attache`.
